Enya !!!

This talented singer from county Donegal in Eire has pleased the ears of millions around the world since she started out with her family band, Clannad, way back when. After branching out solo, her splash on the world music charts was with the driving "Sail away, sail away, sail away" of "Orinoco Flow". The video was excellent, and since then, we wait with bated breath for the each album to be released. I'm jealous of the live interviews carried out on US television, that we here in the Antipodes miss out on.

  11. Note, Enya now lives in Ayesha Castle, a romantic 19th Century Victorian Castle affording the finest views of Killiney Bay and the Sugar Loaf. Built in 1840 by Robert Warren who named it Victoria Castle, commemorating Queen Victoria's accession to the throne. The Castle was gutted by fire in 1924, purchased in 1928 by Sir Thomas Power who restored and renamed it "Ayesha" after the goddess in Ryder Haggard's book "She" - purchased by Colonel Aylmer in 1947 it has remained in the family to the present day. Notable features include fine oak panelling in the entrance hall and diningroom coupled with the magnificent oak spiral staircase.Ayesha is situated in 2ha of garden and woodland.

There are fine displays of rhododendrons in spring and early summer, roses paeonies, alpines and many unusual shrubs and plants set in tranquil surroundings. It is situated 12 km. from Dublin on Victoria Road, Killiney (just below Killiney Village through Gothic Archway)

Anywhere

Know any sites with the old surfing instrumentals? I have vinyl/some CD recordings of things like "Bombora" and "The Crusher" (Atlantics), but no copy of "Baja" (Astronauts). Anyone? Love the old rock instrumentals - remember "Let there be drums" (Sandy Nelson), "Sacha" (Hank Marvin), "No matter what shape" (T-Bones)? And lots more.

The Chantays were five Californians (Brian Carman, Bob Marshall, Bob Spickard, Warren Waters, and Bob Welch) who had a smash hit in March of 1963 - "Pipeline". The EP I have also has three other tracks, all of excellent quality. Great band, guys.

Oh yes (ah, memories).. I have a vinyl copy of "Dalilia" by Roger Roger and his Champs Elysées Orchestra. My first experience with electronic music - waaaaay back in 1965. Since deleted from every record library I have accessed. Sob.

MP3's

With my boy Troy heavily into drum'nbass electronic music, and now with at least 4 sites (including serendipity), I thought it apposite to add some of the links to tools that I have been using as well.
