OK, this was fun. We took off from Bankstown Airport on a bright sunny Saturday morning about 1030 (0030UTC). By the way, this airport is the busiest in Australia, with around a half-million general aircraft movements annually, including LOTS of helicopter flights. It's the South-west PAcific service centre.
The flight then went north over Chester Hill, to the east of Parramatta, to Carlingford, then trending east towards Long Reef, Collaroy. We then turned south along the eastern side of Middle Harbour.
The short trip down to Sydney Harbour was great, very blue. A couple of circuits over Fort Denison (or Pinchgut, as the early convicts named it). Several pix of the city and Sydney Harbour Bridge, then too soon, off down harbour.
We then flew north along the coast past North Head, Long Reef, to Palm Beach.
A left turn to fly west along the Hawkesbury River past Patonga, Woy Woy and Gosford.
A view of Akuna Bay, then after about 10km, a left turn to track back to Bankstown from west of Parramatta this time.
I spotted my house as we went into the final approach turns, but no pix. :-(
All too soon, the hour-long flight was over.
