Changes to Geoff's Silicon Sheep Home Paddock

Changes prior to 2000:
1. 1999-10-02 Minor tidy-ups, as there appears to be accumulated rubbish, not only in the links, but I really will have to redesign the site. Darn.
2. 1999-07-24 Added a Norfolk Island page to cover some of the highlights of our 7 night adventure in relaxation last June.
3. 1999-01-09 Sheree's sky diving page is up, as are alterations/additions on the Introductions page - Pat and Tom, Leah and Amanda, my twin bro and his latest four, Troy's new kitten, Jemima...
4. 1998-08-30 On my joy flight page, there are some digital pix I took August 29 (Saturday) while on a joyflight over the suburbs of Sydney with Sydney Sights. Quite a deal of fun - about an hour, covering about 100km, and at 500 - 700 metres, quite detailed views below. Lots of additions to the Gardens page as well, all taken 1998-08-30. A new photo of Sheree, and one of Kerry and her parents is on the Intros page.
5. 1998-08-23 I have created a new page - Lord Howe Island based on our recent trip to the place. Wow.
6. 1998-04-26 My astronomy page received some more updates. And I'm creating a link-check page for bulk-checking of sites. Not "live" quite yet - we'll see in private first... I also want a page for every-day checking statuses of things, like news, astronomy quick-check sites, HTML-related things, Quality/ISO9000 news/info, help-desk functions, the sort of thing you go to daily/weekly and check. It will probably be called today.htm, and run directly off this page, or even be a part of it...
   Also moved the bulk of the alterations to the changes page.
7. 1998-04-18 to 20. Cleaned up mistakes in references on this page; altered some links on the astronomy page. Updated and added a few links on the Sci-fi page, weather and medical links on the Sciences page, Australian travel, and an odds'n'sods addition or three on others. I also found Jessie's picture on the intros page had the HEIGHT and WIDTH elements switched. Hmm. Also, after running the W3's validate tests against the pages - hoo! Odd fixes to all pages!
8. 1998-04-15 Tidy-ups on the family genealogy pages.
9. 1998-04-12 Put some more words into the words page, with answers to the previous lots (at last)! I've also tidied up some references for the IAU site on the astronomy page.
10. 1998-03-26 Updated Jesse's pix on the intros page.
11. 1998-03-13 Fixed broken links after a checkout of the site by the NetMechanic. This is a free service, but is limited to 500 links and 200 pages. Fixed reference to the Deafness links on intros page; and various other pages. Things do change when you bookmark a fair few sites. Drat.
12. 1998-01-31 Added pages to the genealogy side of the site: a page on my Hart relatives, and setting up one on another line, the Pluis line from Lancashire/Durham. Added page on gardens. Fixed up some broken/updated astronomy pix links as well.
13. 1998-01-22 Renamed most of the file from "page????.htm" to meaningful ones; straightened out some mis-spellings, poor wordings, and added sundry patches to most pages; added details to Geoff's page; added a link on my computer page to a reasonably current copy of my Netscape® link file - the direct link is at bookmark.htm
14. 1998-01-20 Took out <ABBR> tags from the navigation tables: it blanked the cells out in Explorer 3 - ok in Navigators 3 and 4. W3.org recommendation is not handled well by the impotent MS browser. The exact entry read: <ABBR><TITLE="Science Fiction/fantasy">SciFi</ABBR>
    Added new page on Deafness resources; and added a page on some of my ancestors, the Byrnes family from Armagh.
15. 1998-01-17 Many more pages had their tables removed. Added/corrected some music and astronomy links; fiddled some more with the genealogy, travel, and other pages.
16. 1998-01-11 Cleaned/Added links into the computing page. Also added some links into my friends page.
17. 1998-01-05 Additional entries to my music/Enya fan page. Pix to come. Remodelled my Astronomy page, by removing tables, which reduced it in size from around 32kB to 22kB, even with a dozen extra entries (now up to 148). The table entries were changed to numbered lists.
18. 1998-01-03 More alterations to my computing links page, to enable my interests in electronics to be located;
19. 1998-01-02 Started major alterations to my computing links page, to enable Internet/HTML/Web/... learning links to be easily found; Cleaned up links on my search page; Started to modify some tables on various pages, to speed up loading, and to help comply with the guidelines promulgated by W3.org on Page author guidelines at www.w3.org/WAI/GL/pgau_v8.htm. They are also titled "Unified Web Site Accessibility Guidelines" (Also see my computing page).

1997

1. 1997-12-29 Added page on sciences;
2. 1997-12-27 Fixups to guarantee HTML 4.0 compliance of all my pages, with the tests using W3's URL validation tool;
3. 1997-12-16: Minor changes to texts on the introductions page.; Add URL entry to table values, so the printed version of a page is usable. (mostly done);Trying options that work in both main browsers that will keep all tables to standard cell widths (eg 20%, 30% and 50% of page width.) - done;
4. Still adding internal page jump links to some of the pages; adding links to the Genealogy General page (from various sites);
5. 1997-11-25: Trying out a small imagemap navigation tool on introductions - yet to succeed (or try really hard!);
6. 1997-11-01 Now I need to add my comments to the various entries (and weed out any dud links). (Under way - never-ending...)
7. 1997-09-07 to -10-28 Newly minted pages - working hard to get more out. Initially, the site topped out at an index page (this one) and PAGEnn, where nn ranged from 02 to 14, with PAGE04 (Genealogy) having 6 subsidiary pages. Lots of rationalisation, additions since then. I regularly keep diskettes labelled "geoffm" each with the date. I may look them over one day.
